Right of membership
to “Read n Rejoice” is by the sole discretion of
Read n Rejoice management.
The one-time refundable security deposit
collected as per the plan selection is to cover
incidental loss or damage to Read n Rejoice
property. Member may cancel his subscription at
any time and on such cancellation in the event
that there are no deductions towards loss of or
damage to property / books, your security
deposit will be refunded in full. However, if
there is any damage to books or not returned,
you will be charged the book's actual retail
cost and would be deducted from the security
deposit and balance paid to the member.
Refund of security deposit will be, by way
of cheque payable in Chennai only.
The member is explicitly agreeing to pay the
reading fee attached to the plan plus any
applicable tax at the frequency specified by the
plan, by subscribing to a specific membership
plan of Read n Rejoice. Any non-compliance with
the payment terms in spite of reminding twice
will attract penalty of 10% per payment period
on the amount due and may lead to cancellation
We don't provide refunds or credits for any
partial-month subscription periods or unread
Changes in Membership Plan:
Change to a higher plan is permitted at any
time and the difference in the subscription fee
will be calculated for the remaining months of
your subscription and charged to you
accordingly. Change to a lower plan is permitted
at plan renewal only.
Pay As You Read Plan
Members registered with this plan will be
eligible to borrow any 2 books with a maximum
worth of Rs.600. Book Price will be the Maximum
Retail Price of the book.
A lending fee of 10% of the MRP (Maximum
retail price) of the book is charged for every
book borrowed and the lending period is 15 days
Members registered with this plan are not
eligible for any discounts in the sessions or
classes conducted in the library.
If a book is returned with damaged condition
or lost, Read n Rejoice will charge you the
prevailing retail cost of each damaged book or
lost book. Alternatively the member can replace
the book with a new copy of the same title.
Return of Books (Membership Plans)
Read n Rejoice proposes a reasonable reading period (two calendar weeks) with a restriction on the number of books that a member can hold at any point in time based on specific membership plan. However the member can renew the book loaned for further two weeks, by requesting renewal thru e-mail, WhatsApp or phone. Right of renewal is subject to reservations. Under specific circumstances where many members wait on a copy for more than 2 weeks, Read n Rejoice reserves the right to request for the book to be returned and members are expected to return the requested book within 5 calendar days of the request. Failure to do so will lead to a fine of Rs.50 per week for the extra weeks that the member holds the books.
Members understand and agree to promptly return book(s) upon request or after a book return reminder is sent. Failure to do so within 7 calendar days of the request makes Members liable for a fine of Rs.50 per week. If member cancels the membership, Read n Rejoice reserves the right to deduct the fine amount from the Member's refundable security deposit.
Return of Books (Pay As You Read Plan)
The lending period of “Pay As You Read Plan” is 15 calendar days. Return of book beyond the lending period, will attract a late fee of 1% of the book price per additional day beyond the above said lending period.
Membership Confidential Data
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account information and your password. If you reveal your password or share your account with anyone, you take full responsibility for your actions.
You consent to receive electronic communications from Read n Rejoice. You agree that any communication, notice, agreement, or disclosure that we send to you electronically satisfies any legal communication requirements, including that such communications be in writing.
What kind of membership and subscription plans are available?

Is there any difference between direct and online registration? Can online members participate in the sessions conducted in the library?
Ans: There is no difference between direct and online registration. All members can either visit the library or ask for home delivery to borrow books. They can also participate in the sessions conducted in the library and avail member discounts except Pay as You Read members.
What plans are available for home delivery members?
Ans: All plans are available for home delivery members. There is a delivery charge of Rs.20 per delivery. Members who reside within 5 kms from Medavakkam will get 2 free home deliveries in a month. Books will be delivered on Sundays, for which the delivery request should reach us by Saturday morning. The frequency of home delivery will be increased as soon as we have more members requesting for home delivery. However, you can drop by the library anytime to return and borrow books.
Do you collect any registration fees?
Ans: Yes, there is a one time non-refundable joining/registration fees ₹100 collected from members.
How to become an online member to avail door delivery services?
Ans: Please choose the plan appropriate for you.
Fill the membership registration form online. Payment can be done either thru fund transfer or Cash on Delivery.
Browse and add books to cart. Cart will show the books ordered by you. Once you confirm and submit, we will receive an e-mail with the list of books.
Can I authorize someone to collect the books on my behalf at my residence?
Ans: Yes, after you have informed us about who will collect the books. Please note we will not deliver books in other locations except at the registered delivery address.
Can I cancel my membership?
Ans: Membership can be cancelled anytime. However, books should have been returned on time and in good condition for the deposit amount to be returned.
Will my prepaid subscription charges be returned to me for the balance number of transactions remaining as per my plan?
Ans: When there are no dues from your end, we will payback only your refundable deposit thru net transfer. However, Prepaid Subscription charges cannot be refunded for the remaining balance in your account.So we suggest you to try utilize the maximum number of transactions permitted as per your plan and then cancel your online membership.
Can I upgrade from my current plan?
Ans: Yes, you can upgrade to a higher plan anytime. Once you remit the difference amount of the upgraded plan and subscription charges, you will migrate to a higher plan and the maximum number of books and transactions permitted as per your new plan will be activated with immediate effect.
What happens if a book is lost or physically damaged?
Ans: We expect all members to take good care of the books. As adults it is our responsibility to educate children on how to handle books and that they are for the purpose of reading and a source of joy, inspiration and entertainment. You need to ensure that books are not damaged by water or fire, soiled by food particles, ripped, torn, coloured or scribbled. Please remember as a member you expect to receive and read books in good condition and similarly other members also expect the same. Despite caution, accidents do happen, in that case the member has to pay for the entire cost of the book including the current retail price, and binding/lamination cost.
How can I pay?

For online transfer, we will email the bank account details to your registered email address. For Cash on Delivery, you can pay the amount to the delivery person.
